Back To Basics: Reclaiming Social Studies
Back To Basics: Reclaiming Social Studies
It's too bad when historians forget that one of the things we're supposed to teach students is to see beyond our own frame of reference and examine events and issues and how they changed over time - not just how we see them now.

Using a Blog in a Graduate History Course
I was working on getting the Blackboard site ready for my graduate seminar that starts tomorrow and came up with the idea that this would be the better place to use a blog to begin with than the Techniques course. I can play around with Truman info and I can keep distance learning students more in touch with what is going on. It might take some work to help students navigate between both sites but I think I can make it work. Hopefully they will find it helpful. And I will learn a lot more about Truman in the process.

Rainbow
Saw the biggest rainbow I've ever seen ... and a dimmer one right beside it - what a way to start the day.
Also caught the last &*(& mouse before the fall migration.
Just have one glitch on the two online courses that can soon be fixed. Just have to finish the glossary for Houghton Mifflin.
Taking the car in to get the differential axle rod leak fixed - out of warranty, of course. But M&M will lend me a car so I won't be without wheels.
I'm almost at a loss - my PSU courses are about ready. We leave on Wednesday for Santa Fe - a good time for a family vacation.
